Safety

Frequently asked questions

Can testosterone be prescribed through telehealth?

Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance. Federal DEA telemedicine flexibilities currently allow prescribing after a video visit without a prior in-person exam through December 31, 2026; rules after that date are pending. State rules also apply. Your provider will follow current requirements.

Do I need blood tests?

Yes. Guidelines call for at least two early-morning total testosterone measurements plus other labs before diagnosis, and periodic labs (including hematocrit) during treatment.

Does TRT affect fertility?

Yes. Testosterone therapy can suppress sperm production. If you may want children, tell your provider; other approaches may be more appropriate.
