GLP-1 weight loss, prescribed only if it is right for you

Medical review pending · Last updated

GLP-1 medicines have changed how clinicians treat obesity. Metabcore plans to connect you with licensed providers who can evaluate you for FDA-approved options and support you over time.

What is a GLP-1 medicine?

GLP-1 receptor agonists mimic a natural gut hormone that helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. They slow stomach emptying and act on appetite signals in the brain, which can help people eat less. They are used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

FDA-approved options a provider may consider

Orforglipron (Foundayo™)

Once-daily oral GLP-1, FDA-approved in 2026 for chronic weight management.

Why we do not advertise compounded GLP-1s

During the 2022–2025 shortages, pharmacies were allowed to compound semaglutide and tirzepatide. FDA has since declared those shortages resolved, issued dozens of warning letters to online sellers, and in April 2026 proposed excluding these drugs from the outsourcing-facility bulks list. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. Our program is built around FDA-approved medicines.

Is it right for me?

GLP-1s are not appropriate for everyone, including people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, a history of pancreatitis (discuss with your provider), or who are pregnant. Compare: tirzepatide vs. semaglutide · Zepbound vs. Wegovy.

Frequently asked questions

Who may qualify for GLP-1 weight-loss medicine?

FDA-approved weight-management GLP-1s are labeled for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. A licensed provider makes the final decision after reviewing your history.

Do you offer compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?

No. FDA has declared the national shortages of semaglutide and tirzepatide resolved and has restricted compounded copies. Our program features FDA-approved medicines only.

How much weight will I lose?

No one can promise a specific result. In clinical trials, average weight loss varied by medicine and dose, and individual results ranged widely. Your provider can discuss realistic expectations.
